Plantation Drive by SITM 2019

In order to sensitize students towards the need to preserve our environment and ecology, tree plantation drives are organized in the institute from time to time. One such drive was held by SCHOLARS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT, GAROGHULI, GARGHUK, on 14th& 15th August, 2019: Our Institute launched an extensive Plantation Programme to commemorate the occasion of ONE STUDENT ONE TREE and make it a great success. The students and teachers selected the empty places and the roadsides to plant saplings in a well-organised way. The saplings were supplied by the Forest Dept. of Govt. of Assam. In order to restore the eco-balance of the afforestation drive was taken with all seriousness. Anyway, participants were highly enthusiastic to make it a big success. The students planted saplings, and fenced them and watered the plants. Every step of the programme was appreciated by the representatives of the administration and the local forest department officials. The programme created a great stir among the general public too.

The event was begun with the Welcome speech by the Principal. He focused on the need of plantation of trees to fight against climate change, deforestration, global warming and urged the students and faculty members to contribute whole heartedly to the mission of ONE STUDENT ONE TREE. After the inspirational words of Principal we all move towards the place where tree plantation took place. The students and staff participated in the tree plantation drive with great Zeal and enthusiasm and thus made it successful.
